BC PSO Club Meeting

WAKO Canada was excited to host a meeting of BC Clubs on April 14th at Hollett’s Kickboxing and MMA in Sechelt.  Clubs attended from across BC.  Plans were established to move the creation of a government recognized Sports Association (PSO) for the province of BC.   Meetings were also held with the BC Ministry of Sport in discuss our application for a PSO.

A second meeting will have a brief information session on the benefits and structure of a provincial based kickboxing association, followed by a planning session. There are great opportunities for BC clubs involved in this group from provincial sport development funding; inclusion into the BC Winter Games; and our sports entrance into the largest multi-sport event the Annual Canada Games!

Moving our sport into the mainstream has amazing benefits for all clubs!

With WAKO being accepted by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) there are even more positive benefits including entry into the Olympic Games!
