BC Level 1 Coaching Certification Course

After a successful series of meetings with the BC Ministry of Sport, WAKO Canada is working with a number of clubs to establish the first government recognized association for amateur kickboxing in the province.  A major part of government recognition is putting all coaches, cornermen, and instructors on the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) tract for our sport. WAKO Canada has established a series of Certification Courses.

The Level I Certification Course is also a great professional development course for instructors, coaches, athletes and even parents of participants.   The Course is also a requirement of  Registered Corner persons for WAKO Canada competitions, in additional to being a requirement for our Club Insurance Program.

The course provides educational modules in the following areas:

Sport Injury Management

Sport Ethics

Developing Excellence in Coaching

Athlete Planning

Sport Psychology

The course is open to all clubs.  Over 1100 coaches have have participated in this course over the past 14 years making it the longest running and most attended Coach Certification Course in Canada.
