2024 Canadian National Championship

April 25 - April 28

Dear Club/Athletes/Coaches –

We are incredibly excited about our 2024 National Championship! At these championship we have athletes coming from 9 provinces and territories and representing 72 different clubs!  We have 114 total divisions in the kickboxing disciplines of K1, Low Kick and Kick Light making this the largest Combat Championship in Canada!

To keep everyone informed each day – the Bout Lists will be LIVE and updated after each bout – using the links below.

The following is important information on the schedule:

Thursday April 25

5 pm – 7 pm – Pre-registration 

Pre-Registration Only – Any athlete and coach wishing to register in advance of the day they compete can do so on Thursday evening.  Athletes and accredited coaches only (must be on the WAKO Canada list) can register and receive their wrist bands.  Once registered you will be able to go to weigh-ins immediately on the day you compete.  No weigh-ins will happen on Thursday.  You do not have to pre-register on Thursday, however it will save you time on the day you have to weigh-in. Chief Officials will be on hand to answer any questions from any coaches.

Friday April 26

9:00 – 11:00 am (arrive early as weigh-ins will close at 11:00 am)

Registration/Weigh-in/Medicals – All athletes will register (1st step), weigh-in (2nd step) and get medicals for ring disciplines only (3rd step) starting at 9:00 am. All Tatami athletes can weigh-in on Friday (one weigh in only) but ring sport athletes must weigh-in and complete their medical each day they compete.  If you do not compete on Friday you do not have to weigh-in (ring discipline).

Please note – only athletes will be permitted into the weigh in room – absolutely no coaches, parents or spectators will be allowed inside the weigh in room.  Athletes that fail to make weight will be provided a note with the weight change required and they will be allowed one additional weigh in attempt before the weigh-ins close.

All Ring Athletes must arrive with their WAKO Canada Passport and the Part 1 of the PRE-BOUT MEDICAL form complete.  The ringside physician will complete Part 2.

Pre-bout medicals will not be available on the day so please print one document for each day you are competing:

11:00 am – Spectator Doors Open

Weekend Pass – $100  / Weekend Pass – $60 (Seniors over 65 with ID or children under 6) – CASH only

Daily Pass – $50 per day / Daily Pass – $30 (Seniors over 65 with ID or children under 6) – CASH only

 

11:15 am – Mandatory Meetings

Coaches Meeting – One Coach from each club must attend a mandatory rules and protocol meeting.  Attendance will be taken – so please be on time. Coaches meeting will be in the warm up area in the main hall.

 

11:30 pm – Opening

Opening Ceremonies – WAKO Canada is incredibly excited about our pinnacle annual championship.  We will also be presenting a number of awards during the ceremonies including the top supporting clubs.

 

12:00 pm – Bracket A (Ring 1 & 3 – Ring Disciplines/Ring 2 – Tatami Disciplines: KL)

 

4:00 pm – Bracket B (Ring 1 & 3 – Ring Disciplines/Ring 2 – Tatami Disciplines: KL)

 

Saturday April 27

9:00 am – 11:00 am – Registration/Weigh in / Medicals
