WAKO Canada is excited to unveil next years Calendar! The 2020 Year is going to be amazing! WAKO Canada is again hosting our regular Tournaments:
WAKO National Championship – Ring Sports/Kick Light (Niagara Falls)
WAKO National Championship – Tatami Sports (Quebec)
Development Tournament Series (Frosty Friends, Summer Smash, Halloween Howl)
Along with our regular Training Camps, Level I Coaching Certification, Ring and Tatami Officials Courses, there will be two WAKO International Championships:
World Junior/Cadet Championship – Serbia (August)
PANAM Championship – Brazil (November)
The PANAMs will be the qualifiers for the 2021 International Olympic Committee (IOC) Sponsored:
World Combat Games (Kazakastan)
World Games (Alabama)
Both these events will be hosted by the IOC and have incredible scope for all our elite level athletes! Any Canadian Athlete that qualifies for either event (WCG – Full Contact and Point; World Games – K1) will be fully sponsored to attend! The first stop for both events is the 2020 National Championship (Ring-Niagara Falls; and Tatami-Quebec).
In response to our many supportive Club Members, WAKO Canada will be launching two new Certifiation/Professional Development Courses.
IN THE ZONE – Pathway to Coaching Leadership Excellence
INSTRUCTORS COLLEGE – Martial Arts/Kickboxing Teachers Certification Course
IN THE ZONE is the first Combative Sport Psychology Course being offered of its kind. The course has been developed over the course of the past three years by a team of consultants. The course will enable Coaches with all levels of competitors to develop the mindset of champions and offer practical solutions for common athete mental road blocks. IN THE ZONE will also be the WAKO Canada Level II Coaching Course.
INSTRUCTORS COLLEGE is the first Course to teach, enhance and develop the club instructor. Many clubs have athletes/former athletes or Martial Art instructors teaching at their school. While experience is important to any club or school it is important in this competitive business environment to have qualified and competent instructors who are continuously learning. Instructors keep your club/school going forward!
If you are a Club Owner wanting to invest in your staff; or you are someone wanting to become a qualified and sought after instrucor this course is for you! Instructors College will cover topics including Lesson Planning; Classroom Management; Teaching with Energy; Assessments & Evaluations; Adaptive Teaching for Special Needs; as well as special modules on developing a Leadership Program, enhansing your Curriculum and developing a formal Grading Program.
WAKO Canada will only be offering one of each of these courses in 2020 and then they will be launched Coast to Coast!
In addition to our many courses and competitions WAKO Canada has already begun sanctioning club shows and tournaments! Be part of the action and sign up your school/club or if you are an athlete or parent of an athete register early for an event on our exciting 2020 Calendar!
