National Junior Camp
Dear Members, WAKO Canada is hosting a Junior Team Camp for all participants aged 10-18. There will be a full Coaching Staff working with our athletes with backgrounds in Kinesiology, Sport Psychology, Strength and Conditioning as well as experienced National Team Coaches. Our camps are amazing places for all athletes to learn, grow and get a chance to train with other like-minded athletes but also learn from top coaches/trainers from across the country. The National Tatami Committee has started preparations for the WAKO World Championship to be held in Abu Dhabi this coming November. There will be 6 camps held throughout QC for athletes from Ontario and Quebec that wish to try out for Team Canada in the disciplines of Point Fighting, Light Contact and Forms/Weapons. The National Ring Sport/Kick Light Committees have started preparations for the Abu Dhabi WAKO World Senior Championship. There will be 4 camps held in Burlington, Ontario for athletes from Ontario and Quebec that wish to try out for Team Canada in the disciplines of Low Kick, K1, Full Contact and Kick Light. Dear Athletes, This is our second instalment for our National team Ring/Kick Light training camp. All Ontario athletes trying out for the 2025 World Championship must attend 4-5 camps along with the weekend camp in May and participation in the 2025 National Championship. This training camp is open to all competitive athletes registered with WAKO Canada. The camp that will also be the main trials for the National Senior Team applying for the WORLD SENIOR World Championship (Abu Dhabi). All athletes from Ontario/Quebec trying out for any Tatami or Ring disciplines at the Worlds are required to attend. This training camp is open to all tatami competitive athletes registered with WAKO Canada. Along with the May camp that will also be a mandatory camp for the Tatami National Senior Team fighting at the WORLD SENIOR World Championship (Abu Dhabi). Coaching Application From February 19th – 22nd 2026 over 3000 young Athletes and 500 Coaches from across Ontario will participate in the largest multisport event in Canada – the 2026 Ontario Winter Games (OWG). There are 23 sports involved in the 2022 OWG and we are excited that Kickboxing is a core sporting partner.
