NL Point Sparring Officials Course

WAKO Canada is proud to host another officials certification course in Newfoundland.  This course is focused on the tatami discipline if Point Sparring. This discipline is incredibly popular with many martial arts clubs.  WAKO-NL is planning a number of Tatami Tournaments in 2023/2024 under the WAKO rules.

We are inviting all interested parties to register for this September 23rd course.  The rules and regulations of WAKO Point Sparring will be covered along with the protocols used by both judges and referees in WAKO competitions.

The course will be facilitated by Clair Cocozza – Canada’s Gold Card International Referee.  A former champion point sparring athlete, Claire is an internationally accredited official and was recently selected by the WAKO IF to referee at the World Combat Games in Saudi Arabia.
