National Team Coaches Camp

WAKO Canada is hosting the first annual National Team Coaching Course. The course is designed for any coach wishing to take their skills and abilities to a higher level. The course content is focused on preparing coaches for success at the international level and in particular preparing and coaching athletes at the World Championship.
WAKO Canada has consolidated learnings from our participation at numerous World Championships, PANAM Championships and various other WAKO International competitions. While Canada has had some great successes in all the WAKO disciplines, the intent of the WAKO Canada Board is to create a systemic and sustainable program. The overarching objective is to increase the calibre of our athletes and coaches at the international level.
The course will cover a number of areas including –Sport Psychology, Breath-work; Mobility; Program Design; Functional Movements; and Assessment and Evaluation protocols.
Participants will receive two training manuals with concrete activities and protocols that they can put to use immediately. The course is part of the selection process for the next pool of 2024-2026 National Team Coaches.
However, it is open to any club coach, parent or experienced athlete wishing increase their coaching knowledge and capacity.
