WAKO Canada is committed to upholding the highest ethical principles in all of its operations and events. All leaders will demonstrate appropriate conduct, positive attitudes and will always work to create an environment that is respectful, safe and healthy and discrimination and harassment free.
Worldwide Presence
WAKO Canada will be internationally known for its domestic operations and the development of national amateur teams. We will network and affiliate ourselves with sanctioning bodies, national organizations and event coordinators committed to the principles and values of the organization.
WAKO Canada provides opportunities for all athletes. Our association has competitions across Canada for Tatami disciplines (Point Fighting, Light Contact, Kick Light, Forms/Weapons) and Ring disciplines (K1, Low Kick and Full Contact). Competitions include both tournaments and speciality shows. WAKO Canada also provides black belt grading opportunities for martial arts instructors and various programs and services for member clubs.
WAKO Canada works with every provincial and territorial government to develop and support Provincial Sporting Organizations (PSOs). In doing so our association is always in compliance with provincial regulations regarding combative sanctioning. Our involvement with government has allowed our PSO's to be part of multisport events such as the Ontario Winter Games and access to professional development courses for instructors and coaches.
