Ottawa Officials Course

WAKO Canada is excited to welcome back Ring and Tatami sport competitions ! Our Ontario PSO has kept a close relationship with the Ministry of Sport throughout COVID and our protocols and policies for sport has allowed our clubs to reopen and return to full training.  As we begin our planning for competitions we wish to

A strong group of officials is the hallmark of every sport association. Succession planning for new and developing officials is also vital for success.  WAKO Canada is building an infrastructure for the mentorship and ongoing professional development of its provincial officials with a particular focus on eastern Ontario.

The Officials Certification Course being held on Saturday September 25 will cover the following areas:

1. Excellence in Refereeing
2. Impartial Judging
3. Health and Safety of Athlete
4. Sport Ethics
5. Concussion identification and management
6. Sport Leadership
7. Rules and Regulation of WAKO Kickboxing disciplines
8. Rules and Regulations of Prestige League Thai Boxing

All participants will receive training, resouce materials and mentorship by experienced officials from Ontario.

All WAKO Canada Officials receive honorariums and travel expenses based on our National Policy for judges and referees.
