Inaugural Alberta PSO Meeting
WAKO Canada is the National Association for Amateur Kickboxing. We have member clubs in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, but since its inception WAKO Canada has had the greatest concentration of activity in Central and Eastern provinces. Our Association has developed provincial associations in Ontario, Quebec, PEI, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia. Some clubs field athletes on the National Team; others access certifications courses or programming resources; still others join for Club insurance or the credibility of being part of a…

Muzammal brings a wealth of kickboxing knowledge in his seminars. So much so that the hosting school and instructors in attendance may restructure their curriculum to incorporate what he teaches. We had over 50 participants for two WAKO Canada Courses in Quebec last year. One was on Coaching and the other on Officiating. In both courses we learned a lot. I had the pleasure of recently hosting a WAKO Seminar in Grande Prairie. I was well aware of Muzammal's accomplishments as an amateur and professional fighter in addition to his deserved reputation as a premier world class coach. WAKO Canada is excited to announce that the WAKO Nationals for Tatami Sports (Forms, Weapons, Light Contact and Point Sparring) will again be held in conjunction with the Quebec Open Martial Arts Championship. WAKO Canada was excited to host a meeting of BC Clubs on April 14th at Hollett's Kickboxing and MMA in Sechelt. Clubs attended from across BC. Plans were established to move the creation of a government recognized Sports Association (PSO) for the province of BC.
