Intercontinental Championships
WAKO Canada again sent a team to South Africa for a team event. Canada fielded a National Team of 10 athletes from our member clubs - Golden Tiger (Hanover), ROCK Athletics (St. Johns), Black Lotus (Orillia), World Championship (Peterborough), Brake MMA (Cornerbrook), and BAAC (Burlington). Canada has developed many outstanding athletes over the years in amateur combative sports. Jason Hinds is undoubtable on the top of anyones Top 10 list! He has many titles including many CASK Provincial and National Championships, the WAKO North Americans, WAKO PANAMs, and a Bronze Medal at the WAKO World Championship. The Showdown in Downtown is a black tie show that features amateur kickboxing bouts sanctioned by WAKO Canada. The dinner gala is to raise funds to support kidney research and provide support to patients and their families undergoing transplant surgeries. The 12th Annual Ontario Provincial Championship will be held December 9-10 at the PANAM Center in Markham, Ontario. The Championship will have all WAKO Disciplines including K1, Low Kick, Full Contact and Kick Light.
