2026 ONTARIO WINTER GAMES
WAKO Canada and our Ontario PSO are excited to provide information on the 2026 Ontario Winter Games (OWG). We will be selecting 120 young people to participate in the 2026OWG that will be held in Orillia February 19th – 22nd.
The Ontario Winter Games is part of the Canadian Olympic pathway and is organized by the Ministry of Sport. The Games held every 2 years and brings together the top provincial athletes from 23 different sports. It is amazing to see kickboxing involved with mainstream sports such as hockey, skiing, skating and lacrosse.
The Ontario Winter Games is an incredible experience involving …
- 3,500 participants
- 500 officials/coaches
- 23 sports
- 4 days of competition
Participants have an amazing sport experience that will include –
- staying in an Olympic Style Athlete Village;
- participating in a televised Opening Ceremonies;
- visiting other OWG sport competitions;
- and being part of a sporting event similar to a PANAMs or Olympic Games!
Athletes will be selected based on 2 training camps to be held on the following dates:
Sunday October 19 & Sunday November 9
The camps are designed by Team Coaches and focus on technical skill, leadership development and cooperative team building. Team Ontario Coaches come from many different clubs and are dedicated to making each training camp an amazing experience for the young athletes involved!
WAKO Canada and our Ontario PSO have been part of the OWG since 2010 and are currently one of the most popular sports in the Games! The cost of the accommodations, meals and participation is subsidized by the Ministry of Sport and Kickboxing Ontario.
We are expecting a large number of additional participants trying out for the additional 120 positions so apply early!
