WAKO Canada is excited to announce a very active year for both competitions and club development events. We have added two Development Tournaments to provide opportunities for new competitors. WAKO Canada is also piloting two new divisions – TAG TEAM KICK LIGHT and CHOREOGRAPHED FOCUS PAD ROUTINES. These two new divisions are meant to provide an exciting and fun alternative to the traditional ring and tatami sports. Both new divisions are part of our National strategy to provide programs to our club members that meet our LTAD program priorities.
For our elite level athletes there are many tournament format events throughout 2018! We have our regular National and Provincial Championships plus a number of additional tournaments. There will be three International Team events to be held in Canada where Team Canada will face teams from South Africa, the USA and China. For those with the travel bug National Teams will travel to Italy for the WAKO World Junior Championship in September; Mexico for the WAKO PANAM Championship in October; and China for the EAST vs West II event. Check the application process for any of these events.
