WAKO World Junior Championship

The largest and most prestigious international event is the WAKO World Championship. The 2018 WAKO Worlds is focused on cadets, juniors and intermediates (ages 10-18). The WAKO Worlds will be held near Venice Italy from September 15-23rd. There are divisions for all Tatami disciplines (Light Contact, Kick Light, Point Sparring, Musical Forms/Weapons) and Ring disciplines (K1, Low Kick and Full Contact).
Athletes trying out for Team Canada are expected to attend the National Championship in Quebec City (April – Point, Forms/Weapons, Light Contact) and/or Toronto (May-Ring Sport and Kick Light). In additional there are mandatory training camps being held across Canada (Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec and Eastern Canada). Please see the WAKO Calendar for details.
