VICTORIA OFFICIALS COURSE
July 16 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
WAKO Canada is building a strong foundation in British Columbia. As we are a new PSO in the province WAKO wants to ensure that there is a strong team of officials to grow competitions across the province. The island has a vibrant combative community and the clubs there are working to build a cooperative team of judges and referees.
A Victoria specific course is being held on Sunday July 16h. The Course will certify both judges and referees in all of our Ring Disciplines – Low Kick, K1 and Full Contact Kickboxing. The course will covers:
- Rules and Regulatinos
- Scoring Systems
- Referee Protocols
- Sports Medical Management
- Ethical and Legal Protocols
The Course is open to all persons with experience and a keen interest in the sport. We regularly have Coaches, Athletes, Parents and fans take the course to learn more about the sport, how bouts are officiated, and to become part of our Officials Team in Ontario! All Course Graduates will be assigned a mentor and provided additional support and opportunities to practice judging and refereeing at member clubs.
Course Graduates come to their first WAKO Events as observers and then slowly take on officiating roles as they are supported and mentored by our experienced Chief Officials.
Once Officials are on the full time roster for events – you are paid honariums ($100/event) and travel expenses (approxinately $0.50/km) for every event you are selected for!
Come and join our team of Victoria Officials and get the best seats at all of our tournaments and shows!
