2023 ONTARIO WINTER GAMES
WAKO Canada is excited to annouce the final details for the 2023 Ontario Winter Games. Please note the following important information:
Athete Arrival:
Location – Clarion Hotel, 900 Pembroke St., E., Pembroke, K7A-3M2
Time – Between 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm (please ensure that all athletes arrive within this time)
Meeting Place – Please meet in the lobby of the hotel. Athletes will be greeted by your Team Leaders
When athletes arrive the Team Leaders will greet the athletes and parents/guardians and provide athletes with their OWG accrediations. Only athletes will be provided their room keys by the Team Leaders. Parents/Guardians are welcome to get the room information from the team leader, however adults cannot enter the rooms of the athletes due to OWG safety policies. Once athletes have been checked in and drop off their belongings into their rooms they will meet with their team leaders in a central meeting area to begin the OWG experience.
Competition Venue:
Location – Valor High School – 19 Leeder Ln, Petawawa, ON K8H 0B8
Bracket 1 – Friday February 10 (1:30 pm)
Bracket 2 – Saturday February 11 (1:30 pm)
Bracket 3 – Sunday February 12 (10:00 am)
Medal Ceremonies – Sunday February 12 (2:00 pm)
Once the ceremonies are completed (4:00 pm) all athletes are free to depart. Parents/guardians are requested to arrive on time for the ceremonies. The school will be closing shortly after the completion of the ceremonies.
Important Information:
Please ensure all athletes arrive with the following –
Competition Equipment (Ring – headgear, shin/instep; Tatami – headgear, shin/instep or point); training clothes; warm outwear for outdoor activities/opening ceremonies; swimwear (the hotel has a pool that teams may chose to use); training journal; any other personal items for the weekend.

Please note – Results and updated schedule will be on a live link that will be updated daily. The link will go live on Thursday evening after the opening ceremonies:
IMPORTANT NOTE – the current bout list will be updated daily. The objective of the OWG is to provide as much opportunty for athletes to compete. There are a number of blank spots on the bout list. Additional bouts maybe added daily based on discussions between athletes and team coaches.
