2022 Ontario Winter Games

With the announcement that Kickboxing has been fully accepted into the International Olympic Committee (IOC) the stage has been set for our sports inclusion into the Olympic Games.  Part of the Canadian Olympic Team pathway is the Ontario Games program. Organized by the Ministry of Sport the Ontario Winter Games is the largest multi-sport event in Canada and is the first step for all athletes in their Olympic Games journey.


We are excited to announce the final list of selected athletes!

Of the applicants 123 have been selected to attend and compete at the 2022 Ontario Games event.  The list of all selected athletes can be found below:

Registration for the 2022 OWG is now open for all selected athletes.  There are a number of forms that need to be completed and the requirements have strict deadlines.  Please see the registration package below:

Please note the strict JANUARY 7th 2022 DEADLINE to register for the Ontario Winter Games.

WAKO Canada is also excited to announce that all athletes will be receiving Ontario Winter Games competition oufitting that has been designed for our National Team!  The Board of WAKO Canada wants all of our young athletes to look and feel like the national calibre athletes they will eventually become!

Important Notice:

The Muncipality of Renfrew County and the location of the OWG – Algonquine College will now require all participants (coaches, officials and athletes aged 12-19 to be fully vaccinated to participate in the 2022OWG.  This new rule was established by the Public Health and By Law department of the county and will be enforced by their Bylaw staff during the entire Games for all venues and all sports.  Please ensure that your son/daugther comply to these guidelines in timely fashion.
